The CAC Approach

Multi-Disciplinary Team

Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), comprised of law enforcement, Massachusetts Department of Children & Families, Bristol County District Attorney’s office, Massachusetts Pedi-SANE program and community-based agencies, the Center provides direct services to children and families from any of the 20 towns and cities in Bristol County, Massachusetts. The coordinated response immediately follows the filing of a 51A. This best-practice process reduces the revictimization of a child, improves the prosecution process and offers the greatest outcome for healing. All services are provided free of charge.

Team Review and Case Tracking

Case review and case tracking help ensure that children and families are receiving the support they need to move forward with their recovery. During case review, the MDT reconvenes to share information and support regarding prosecution of the case, available community resources and general advocacy. Collaboration and information sharing are essential to the investigation and prosecution, as well as, service provision to victims of abuse to ensure no child falls through the cracks.
