Know Your Impact(KYI)

Know Your Impact is A VIRTUAL program for youth in Bristol County – now offering to youth state-wide.

A group to support, educate and broaden children and youth’s understanding of risky, online behavior; the implications, unattended consequences and risks. This online group has been designed for children 8-12 years old and 13-17 years old.

Disclaimer: This course does not  take the place of filing a 51A, if a 51A has not been filed , The Children’s Advocacy Center will contact the referral source to discuss further. Diversion cases will only be accepted by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
8-12 Year Old: Program Details

A three (3) week program designed for kiddos displaying risky behavior online. This program requires parent/caregiver involvement. Referral sources can opt for in-school option or virtual in-home option. Details to be discussed with Education & Outreach Coordinator upon referral.

Topics Include: Risks & Rewards of Technology Safe Approaches to Devices, Social Media & Gaming Healthy Relationships Online & Offline Warning Signs of Online Predators Recognizing & Reporting Unsafe Users Long-Term Consequences of Online Behavior

Referrals

Please complete a referral form for youth you think will be suitable for the program. This program does not take the place of a 51A and parent/caregivers need to give consent for youth to attend. Referrals are accepted on an ongoing basis. If we are in the middle of a group, it might be a few weeks before we get around to new referrals. 12-17 Year Old: Program Details

A five (5) week virtual program designed for teens engaging in risky online behavior. Examples of referrals include sexting, sextortion, online enticement, etc. Parents/caregivers must be made aware of referral being placed.

Topics Include: Power of Digital Foot print Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships, Online & Offline Boundaries & Consent Implications of Sexting , Sextortion , & Revenge Porn Legal, Social, & Emotional Consequences of Inappropriate Images Online Predators & Exploitation Positive Use of Devices for a Successful Future.

Digital Safety

A preventative one-time program aimed at training youth on digital safety. Topics include: safe uses of the internet, social media and video games; sexting and the related legal and social risks; knowledge and understanding of online predators and grooming in an effort to reduce dangers to youth online.

Options for individual classrooms and whole grade assemblies. Curriculum for youth of all ages (grades Kindergarten to High School) 45 mins – 60 mins. 

Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT)

An evidenced based model created to teach youth age 7-14 years old appropriate and respectful ways to respond to sexual behaviors and boundaries. PSB-CBT is: Parent or caregiver involved, 16-22 sessions, Group or family based. Highly effective with 2% recidivism rate.
